This semi-rural idyll of cave houses, winding streets and fabulous views of the Alhambra is where we uncover the soul of flamenco on our Sacromonte Stroll, which features a guided tour of a unique cave museum dedicated to gypsy life. At night the district boasts many atmospheric venues in which to see a Live Flamenco Performance. We will advise you on the best place, depending on the day and season, and obtain tickets for you. There is a wide variety of flamenco on offer, with the added bonus of several flamenco festivals throughout the year. You will receive expert tuition in a small, relaxed dance class, from a vivacious and experienced local teacher. All levels catered for, no prior experience necessary.

Flamenco Dance Classes

Whether you are a complete novice or already have some experience, you will be surprised at how quickly you can pick up the essentials of this vibrant and graceful dance. All ages and levels can gain enormous pleasure from the classes taught by Ana, a teacher for the past ten years and a dancer practically all her life. Ana radiates enthusiasm and that quintessential Andalucían characteristic, alegria (happiness!), so not only will you learn a lot but you will smile and laugh a lot, too!

Sacromonte Stroll

See inside the life of one of Granada’s most singular and yet least-discovered districts, the Sacromonte. This informative guided walk will introduce you to the history and legends that have grown up around its cave dwellings, traditionally inhabited by gypsies. It was in these caves that the flamenco zambras were held: raucous, spontaneous, communal shows which would often last the entire night. You will see how life was lived in these caves at an imaginative museum, set in caves in the hillside and enjoying splendid views over the Alhambra and the city.

Live Flamenco Performances

The Sacromonte and Albaicín districts offer many different possibilities for viewing live flamenco, so it pays dividends to take some care in choosing the venue. Additionally, there are periodic festivals in theatres and auditoriums which are well worth seeking out. We will be happy to advise you on the best venue and espectáculo to fit in with your plans and interests, and will assist you in obtaining tickets.
