DIRECTIONS FROM ALMERIA AIRPORT TO GRANADA (BY BUS)
IMPORTANT: If your flight arrives in Almería any later than 17.30 you will be unlikely to catch the last bus from Almería Bus Station to Granada, which departs at 19.00 (arrival 21.15). Accordingly, we strongly recommend either that you choose an outward flight which arrives well before 17.30 or that you request an Airport Transfer. When making your flight arrangements, please keep in mind the time it may take for onward travel from your arrival airport (e.g. Almería) to Granada. We don't want you to miss anything!
Almería Airport to Almería Bus StationFollow signs in the Arrivals Hall (Llegadas) for Autobuses, turn right as you exit the building and the stop (parada) is a little further on from the taxi rank. The service for Almería centre is the #14. Buses leave the Airport between 07.22 to 15.22h every 30 minutes; then, from 16.07 to 20.37h, every 45 minutes.; last services at 21.07 and 22.08h. The fare (one-way) is 0.70€ (helpful to have some change, at least a 5€ note, if not coins) and the approximate journey time to Almería Bus Station (Estación de Autobuses) is 30 minutes.
Alternatively, a taxi (from the rank just outside Arrivals Hall) will cost roughly 1€5 and take perhaps 20 minutes, depending on traffic levels.
Almería Bus Station to GranadaOn arrival at Almería Bus Station, enter the main building head for the ticket window of Alsina Graells. To request in Spanish a single ticket to Granada, say una ida para Granada, por favor/ dos idas para Granada etc. The price one way is 11,00€ NB: Make sure to take the non-stop service (Directo) rather than the stopping service (Ruta) as not only is it quicker but also cheaper. Look on the display board in the main hall for information as to the bay (anden) from which the bus will depart. If you are running very short of time when you reach the bus station you should be able to buy a ticket from the bus driver, although he may tell you this is not possible if the bus is very full, or his football team lost last night!
Journey time to Granada is 2 hours 15 minutes, and the buses are comfortable, modern and usually very punctual.
A taxi from the rank outside Granada Bus Station will cost no more than 8€ to the city centre. Alternatively, you can take a city bus (red in colour), either the #3 or #33, and alight at the final stop (by the Cathedral) in Gran Vïa, from where it is a short walk to your hotel ( – you will be sent a map with your booking confirmation if you book your accommodation through us).
BUEN VIAJE!
